Pictograms are an integral part of a Games identity, enabling the immediate recognition of all sports by athletes, officials and spectators, regardless of language. Like the Glasgow 2014 logo, the Pictograms have been created from a set of geometric, concentric rings. This dynamic foundation gives each Pictogram both energy and motion. Each pose is based on ‘The Defining Moment’, the key decisive moments that define winners. The Pictograms collected several major UK and Scottish design awards.
